PAMCANI Urges Do Your Part — Be Water Smart
Through Poster Contest For Local Students

Downers Grove, Ill.; Aug. 31, 2009 — Third– through sixth–grade students living in DeKalb, DuPage, Kane and Kendall Counties can encourage everyone to Do Your Part — Be Water Smart by participating in the 16th annual poster contest sponsored by the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois (PAMCANI). “We chose this theme to focus on water conservation in action,” said S.J. Peters, executive director of PAMCANI. “Encouraging our youth and their families to be active participants in this area is a step toward working together to confront major environmental issues,” he added.

Entries may be rendered in any art medium on 8.5x11- or 11x17-inch paper (no poster board or cardboard) and will become the property of PAMCANI. They will be judged for originality, design and theme topic. Each student is allowed only one entry. Winners will be announced by Nov. 13, 2009.

$500 Bond Grand Prize
The Grand Prize, which will be selected from among all entries, is a $500 U.S. Savings Bond plus a $2,000 CDW (Computer Discount Warehouse) gift certificate for the winning student’s school.

Prizes For Each Grade Level, Winners’ Schools
Prizes will be awarded for first through third place in each grade level; the winning students will receive U.S. Savings Bonds of $200, $150 and $100, respectively. Honorable Mention awards of $75 U.S. Savings Bonds will be made at the judges’ discretion. In addition, the schools of all first-, second- or third-place winners will receive checks for $100, $50 and $25, respectively, for each winning entry.
