Downers Grove, Ill.; April 16, 2009 – Twelve local contractors earned the
Commitment To Safety Award for 2008 given by the Plumbing and Mechanical
Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois (PAMCANI) to those who have equaled or
surpassed their own safety record for the prior year.
“We have recently revitalized our Safety Committee as part of PAMCANI’s
commitment to promoting safe practices in the workplace; this eighth year of our
annual Awards Program,” said S.J. Peters, executive director of PAMCANI,
“is a significant milestone,” as he announced the awards for 2008.
“Because most of our work is done on customers’ premises, a safer work
environment stimulates customer satisfaction in addition to protecting people
from needless exposure to risk,” he added.
The awards are based on documented improvements for the last three years in such
areas as number and rate of lost workdays and workers’ compensation filings.
