Downers Grove, Ill.; Feb. 28, 2008 — Twenty-three students representing 10 local elementary schools in
DeKalb, DuPage, Kane and Kendall Counties have won prizes in the Go With The Flow…Wasting Water Is A No!!! poster contest held recently for third through sixth graders
by the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois (PAMCANI).
“We are very proud of all the participants, as well as their teachers, for the high level of creativity and enthusiasm they
have maintained over the 12 years we have been sponsoring this program to encourage water conservation,” said S.J. Peters,
executive director of PAMCANI.
Reskin School, Glendale Heights Wins Grand Prize
The Grand Prize of a $500 U.S. Savings Bond was won by Mextli Rueda, a 5th grader at Reskin School, Glendale Heights; the school
was awarded a $2,000 Computer Discount Warehouse gift certificate.
Other prizes were awarded for 1st through 3rd place and optional honorable mentions in each grade level; the winning students
received U.S. Savings Bonds of $200, $150, $100 or $75, respectively. In addition, schools that had first-, second- or
third-place individual winners received $100, $50 or $25, respectively.
The other winners are:
Downers Grove: Jessica Fortin, 3rd grade 1st place; Adam Zlotnicki, 3rd grade 2nd place; and Madison Smith, 3rd
grade honorable mention; all of Prairieview Elementary School.
Elgin: Mackenzie Greene, 6th grade 1st place and Mason Switzer, 6th grade 2nd place, both of Fox River Country
Day School.
Alyssa Doruelo, 4th grade 3rd place, St. Laurence School.
Nicole Hotten, 3rd grade honorable mention, St. Johns Lutheran School.
Glendale Heights: Rhianna Olson, 5th grade 1st place, Reskin School.
Dezstiny Dockery, 4th grade, and Ayisha Kecht, Bevion Warner and Imani Walker, 5th grade, all honorable mentions; all of G.
Stanley Hall School.
Naperville: Carly Hagel, 4th grade 1st place; Tanmay Murur, 4th grade 2nd place; Kellen Moore, 3rd grade 3rd
place; and Emily Garza, 4th grade honorable mention; all of May Watts School.
Streamwood: Courtney Howle and Randi Schofield, both 3rd grade honorable mentions, all of Hampshire Elementary
