Downers Grove, Ill.; July 1, 2008 – Twenty students representing eight elementary schools in McHenry and Lake Counties
earned awards in the “Go With the Flow – Wasting Water is a No” poster contest held recently for third-
through sixth-grade students by the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois (PAMCANI). It is the
15th annual competition sponsored by PAMCANI to encourage students and their families to conserve water.
Mundelein’s Lincoln School Wins Grand Prize
The Grand Prize of a $500 U.S. Savings Bond was won by Emma Bartz, a 4th grader at Lincoln School in Mundelein. As a result,
her school was awarded a $2,000 Computer Discount Warehouse gift certificate, according to S.J. Peters, executive director
of PAMCANI.
Promise Williamsen, a 5th grader at Lincoln School, was a 3rd place winner.
Other prizes were awarded for 1st through 3rd place and optional honorable mentions in each grade level; the winning students
received U.S. Savings Bonds of $200, $150, $100 or $75, respectively. In addition, schools that had first-, second- or
third-place individual winners received $100, $50 or $25, respectively, for each of their winners.

Beach Park, Our Lady of Humility: Flynn Castellanos, 6th grade, honorable mention.
Buffalo Grove, St. Mary: Andy Kantor, 6th grade, 1st place; Meghan Heaphy, 5th grade, 2nd place.
Grayslake, St. Gilbert: Matt Trush, 4th grade, 2nd place.
Lake Villa, Prince of Peace: Adam Macanowicz, 4th grade, 3rd place.
McHenry, Potter School of Excellence: Nick Ramberg, 5th grade, 1st place.
Waukegan, St. Anastasia: Juan Zuniga, 3rd grade, 1st place; Moria DeGuzman, 3rd grade, and Tracey Brolley,
6th grade, 2nd place; Mia O’Berto, 3rd grade, 3rd place; Alec Gessert, 3rd grade, Nicholas Anderson, 3rd grade, Emily
Zastrow, 3rd grade, and Katey Kennedy, 5th grade, honorable mentions.
Waukegan, Academy of Our Lady: Leslye Franco, 4th grade, 1st place; Jasmine Valverde, 6th grade, 3rd place;
Johnny Robinson, 4th grade, and Ayana Bankston, 6th grade, honorable mentions.
Students living in DuPage, DeKalb, Kane and Kendall Counties will be able to enter PAMCANI’s next water conservation
