| Downers Grove, Ill.; Nov. 8, 2007 – New plumbing fixtures, faucets, piping and
related supplies were donated again this fall to the ministry of St. Jude’s church in Louisa, Ky., for those in need in the
Eastern Kentucky Appalachia Mountains by members of the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois
(PAMCANI) in cooperation with UA Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 501.

On hand for unloading a semi-trailer full of donated plumbing materials are (l-r): Louie Desancic and Mike Higgason of
National Plumbing and Heating Supply, Chicago; Dick Kuhn of R. J. Kuhn Plumbing and Heating, Inc., Oswego; Debbie
Schimanski, PAMCANI staff member, Downers Grove; Paul Buddy of Paul L. Buddy Plumbing & Heating, Aurora, and a director
of PAMCANI; Ray Turner of Lenert Plumbing, Inc., Naperville; and Larry Allport of UA Local 501, Aurora.
“The donated goods come from surplus stocks that accumulate because of changed and cancelled orders; none of it has
been used,” explains S.J. Peters, executive director of PAMCANI. “And Local 501 contributes materials no longer
needed for its educational programs,” he added. The donation site was at Local 501, Aurora.
The mission of St. Jude’s has been serving Appalachia for 57 years, led since its founding by Fr. Ralph Beiting.
