Downers Grove, Ill.;
Jan. 18, 2007 - Thirty-two students representing 15 local elementary schools
have earned awards in the Water Lost - At What Cost? poster contest held
recently for third- through sixth-grade students in DuPage, DeKalb, Kane and
Kendall Counties by the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois. It is the 12th annual poster competition
sponsored by PAMCANI to encourage students and their families to
conserve water.
Willowbrook Wins Grand Prize
The Grand Prize
of a $500 U.S. Savings Bond was won by Chloee Batllo, a 4th grader at Gower
West School in Willowbrook; the school was awarded a $2,000 Computer Discount
Warehouse gift certificate.
Other prizes were awarded for 1st through
3rd place and optional honorable mentions in each grade level; the winning
students received U.S. Savings Bonds of $200, $150, $100 or $75, respectively.
In addition, schools that had first-, second- or third-place individual winners
received $100, $50 or $25, respectively.
