New Website has Illinois Teachers and Students Excited to "Get2Know H20"

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (March 1, 2006) Spring break is the perfect time for teachers to relax and regroup, and this year, many Illinois grade school teachers will be able to revive their old lesson plans using a great new website, www.Get2KnowH20.org.

On March 1, 2006, the fun and interactive site officially launched, giving teachers instant access to fresh teaching materials related to the water cycle and water conservation. Even more exciting, however, is that teachers are not the only ones captivated by the new site. The easy-to-do experiments and interactive games have given enthusiastic students a fun new place to spend their time as well.

"It is becoming increasingly crucial in today's world that we teach kids the importance of saving water, but the trick has always been finding a way that will keep them interested," says Matt Weisz, owner of MVP Plumbing, Montgomery, Ill., and member of the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois. "We really believe this website is the perfect solution."

The website, led by a kid-friendly Conservation Ken character, guides eager students through a variety of games and activities, as well as gives step-by-step directions to twenty unique experiments that can be done in a classroom or at home.

Teachers looking to incorporate the website into their classrooms can visit a specially designed homepage at www.Get2KnowH20.org/instructor that contains an assortment of printer friendly worksheets, quizzes, and teacher's guides to accompany the experiments. Fourth grade science teachers will find the site especially helpful, as the experiments will be listed along with the Illinois State Board of Education Goals with which they comply.

The site in its entirety is now up and running at www.Get2knowH20.org, and the interactive games and activities can also be accessed through the learning zone at www.pamcani.org.
