"Open Your Eyes – Be Water Wise" Theme of Poster Contest for Third- Through Sixth-Grade Students
Downers Grove, Ill.;
Jan 12, 2005 – Third- through sixth-grade students living in Lake and
McHenry Counties are invited to submit entries for the "Open Your Eyes –
Be Water Wise" poster contest being sponsored by the Industry Fund of the
Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors of Northern Illinois (Lake and McHenry
Counties). The mission of the contest is to raise awareness of water
conservation.
Grand, Individual Prizes For Grade Levels, Schools
A Grand Prize of a $500 U.S. Savings Bond will be awarded to a winner
selected from all entries submitted; the winning student’s school will be
awarded a $2,000 Computer Discount Warehouse gift certificate.
Prizes
also will be awarded for first through third place and optional honorable
mention at each grade level. The winning students will receive U.S. Savings
Bonds of $200, $150, $100 or $75 respectively. In addition, schools that have
first-, second- or third-place individual winners will receive $100, $50 or
$25, respectively.
All participants will receive an award and gift
item.
Entries must encourage water conservation, focusing on the "Open
Your Eyes – Be Water Wise" theme. They may be rendered in any art medium
but overall size must not exceed 24x36 inches. They must be submitted at one of
the official drop off sites listed below by April 8, 2005.
Each
participant is allowed one entry. The student’s name, school and grade
must be clearly printed on the back of the entry. Winners will be announced by
May 8, 2005.

The Association
